MediqAssist
A second opinion
that shows its sources
Ask a coding question inside the episode you're working on. MediqAssist looks it up in the codebook, the standards and your local rules, then answers with every reference linked.
A coding question rarely waits for a senior coder to be free. So it gets answered one tab at a time: the index, the tabular list, the standards, then back to the notes.
Looked up, not remembered
It checks the books before it answers
Every answer starts with a lookup: the ICD-10-AM index and tabular list, ACHI, the Australian Coding Standards and your organisation's own rules.
You see each lookup as it runs. MediqAssist doesn't invent codes, standards or quotes from the notes.
One click to the source
Every reference opens where it lives
Codes and standards in an answer open in the Navigator at their entry, so you can read the rule for yourself.
Asking about a specific standard or code? Type @ to bring it straight into your question.
Careful by design
It tells you when the record isn't enough
A confident wrong answer is worse than none. When the documentation doesn't back a code, MediqAssist says so plainly.
It shows what's missing and what to check in the chart, so the next step is clear.
The questions coders actually ask
Plain English, about the episode in front of you. No special syntax to learn.
-
“Which goes first here, the sepsis or the pneumonia?”
Sequencing
-
“Can I code this wound infection as a complication of the surgery?”
Complications
-
“Does the hyponatraemia meet the criteria to be coded?”
Additional diagnoses
-
“Is there a more specific code for this fracture?”
Specificity
-
“Which note supports the procedure on day two?”
Documentation
-
“Do we have a local rule for this diabetes combination?”
Local rules
It advises. You decide.
-
It never changes a code
MediqAssist explains and recommends. Every code on the episode is still added, confirmed or replaced by your coder.
-
It names its sources
Codes and standards in every answer link to the entry they came from, so checking an answer takes one click.
-
It says when it doesn't know
When the record doesn't support a code, it says so, and tells you what to check instead of guessing.
Where MediqAssist fits
It helps while an episode is being coded. An independent check on finished coding is a separate job, and a separate product.
While coding
MEDIKODI Coding
Codes every episode with the evidence beside each code. MediqAssist is built in, on the episode your coder has open.
Explore CodingAfter coding
MEDIKODI Lens
An independent read on coding that's already done, by anyone. One case or a whole extract, with the evidence for every finding.
Explore LensWhat coders ask about MediqAssist
Does MediqAssist change codes on the episode?
No. It answers questions and recommends what to do, with its sources. Adding, confirming or replacing a code is always your coder's decision.
What does it know about the episode I'm coding?
The episode's summary, the suggested codes and the evidence behind each one. On top of that it can search ICD-10-AM, ACHI, the Australian Coding Standards and your organisation's own coding rules while it answers.
Can MediqAssist be wrong?
Yes, it can make mistakes, which is why every answer names what it's based on. Codes and standards open at their entry in the Navigator, so you can check the reasoning before you act on it.
Is it a general-purpose chatbot?
No. It works inside the episode you have open and sticks to coding: codes, standards, documentation and your local rules.
How is it different from MEDIKODI Lens?
MediqAssist helps while an episode is being coded, as part of MEDIKODI Coding. MEDIKODI Lens is a separate, independent check on coding that's already been done, by anyone, one case or a whole extract at a time.
